SYNTHETIC CARBOHYDRATE CHEMISTRY AND CHEMICAL BIOLOGY CAPABILITY

Our modern, 20-fume hood laboratory is well equipped for all our research needs and includes separate dedicated chemical biology and analytical rooms:

  • 15 x Schlenk lines
  • 10 x Rotary evaporators with recirculating chillers
  • BioRad LP Purification system (for SAX, desalting)
  • 2 x Agilent Infinity II Analytical LC Systems 1260 Infinity II Preparative LC System
  • 2 x Agilent 1260 Infinity II Preparative LC System.
    • Inline MS
    • ELSD, RI + UV detectors
    • 1-100 mg scale preparations and separations
  • HPLC systems offer a range of techniques through a library of phases for LPLC and HPLC, including: RP, NP, HILIC, phenyl hexyl and SAX.
  • H-Cube Mini Plus
  • Asynt LightSyn Lighthouse reactor
  • Tecan Infinite Mnano Plate reader
  • 20L Freeze drier
  • Buchi C815 and Reveleris X2 Automated Flash Chromatography purification systems

Our laboratory is located within the School of Chemical and Physical Sciences at Keele University and additionally houses a suite of analytical capabilities to support carbohydrate synthesis. This includes: NMR capability (2 x 400 MHz Multi-probe NMR spectrometers), low and high-resolution mass spectrometry capability and X-ray crystallography (Bruker D8 Quest Eco single crystal diffractometer).
